A premium sun-dried red tea from ancient tea trees (Gu Shu), aged around 150 years. Grown in a high-mountain tea garden on the slopes of Jinuo Mountain (Jinuo Shan, 基诺山), this tea benefits from a pristine environment and a nutrient-rich root system, which enhances the depth and complexity of the leaves.
Origin
Jinuo Mountain, also known as Youle Shan (攸乐), is part of the Six Famous Tea Mountains of Yunnan. It is located near Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture.
What Makes This Tea Special?
Unlike classic Dian Hong red teas, this Shai Hong undergoes final sun-drying instead of drying in an oven. This method preserves more aromatic compounds, moisture, and enzymes, leading to a fruity, honeyed complexity. Over time, it matures beautifully, gaining more depth, softness, and richness, much like a Sheng Pu-erh.
